How to delete pagefile.sys in Windows 7?

What is the pagefile.sys and why shouldn’t I delete it?

The pagefile.sys is the virtual memory file that is saved on your hard drive. Therefore this file can become quite big. Whenever you don’t have enough physical RAM the system can use the virtual RAM to speed up the current process. So, the virtual memory is quite essential for a fast system and it is not recommended to disable it. Even on systems with a lot of RAM you will need this file badly. Actually, the more physical RAM you have, the more virtual memory you should have. As a rule of thumb, you should always have 1.5 times more virtual memory than physical RAM, recommended is 2 times more.

As you can see, deleting the pagefile.sys is not a good solution and you should only do it if you need disk space urgently.

Delete pagefile.sys

1. Open up the Control Panel
2. Click on System and Security
3. Click on the System link:

(The text “System” is a link)

4. In the sidebar click on “Advanced system settings”

5. Go to the tab Advanced:

6. Click on Settings at the top (Performance field)

7. Go to the Advanced tab

8. At the bottom you will see how much disk space is currently used as virtual memory. Click on the Change button

9. Uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives

10. Check No paging file and click on Set

11. Click on Ok and reboot. The pagefile.sys will be gone for good you don’t even have to delete it.

If the pagefile.sys is still there, don’t delete it manually and double-check that you followed the instructions carefully. Only then if the virtual memory is set to 0 you can try to delete the pagefile.sys

To Lock a folder in windows 7 with cmd

Now open Command Prompt from Start Menu.
Type "attrib +s +h C:\abc" without quotes and press enter.
This command will Make your folder invisble and it can not be seen even in hidden files and folders
To make it visible again type "attrib -s -h C:\abc"
You can lock any other folder also by changing the location C:\abc to address of your folder.

1.Be sure you’re logged into your Facebook account.

2. Go to the https://developers.facebook.com/

3. Click on “Get Timeline.”

4. Scroll down on your timeline and edit or remove any items you don’t want shown. Do that by holding your cursor over the upper right of the item you want to edit, and then make your choice on the drop-down list.

5. From that list you can change the date of the item, add a location, hide it from the timeline, delete the post altogether, or report it/mark it as spam.

6. If you’d like to “feature” any of the posts, click on the star icon to the left of that pencil icon, and that item will be expanded all the way across the page, made larger for all your friends to see.

7. Once you’re satisfied with all the edits you’ve made, either go back to the top of the Timeline and click “Publish Now,

Login to your Facebook account and then Click here

On the new Page, Click on the "Allow" for give the permission to the Developer App

Click on the "Create New App"

Select the Whatever name you want for the "Display Name" and "Namespace". Check the "I Agree" Box and click on the Continue Button.

On the New page, click on the "Open Graph" in the left Sidebar

On the new page appearing, fill any detail you want in the two boxes and click on the "Get Started"

When the next page appears, scroll down and click on the "Save Changes and Next". Follow the same thing on the next screen which comes.

On the next screen, just wait for few minutes and then go to your homepage.

On your homepage, you will see a notification to Enable the New Facebook Timeline. Just Click on the "Get it Now" button and you will have the New Facebook Timeline enable in your Profile.

How to disable:-

Step 1: Login to your Facebook or go to facebook Developers page.

Step 2: Now you see the same screen you saw when you were activating your undefined but this time you will click “Edit App” instead of “Create New App”

Step 3: After clicking Edit App you will see the same app you build when you enabled undefined.

Step 4: On bottom left of your screen there will be an option to “Delete App” click that.

Step 5: Facebook will now confirm whether you really want to delete this app or not, click Confirm.

Step 6: After clicking Confirm you will get a confirmation pop-up that your app has successfully been deleted, click “Ok”

Step 7: And that was it, you just disabled undefined, go back to your profile and you will see your old Facebook Profile.
